Hello friends!
You are invited to Home Smith Park - Picnic Area 1 (near the Old Mill, Toronto) for a family style BBQ and cookout in celebration of Brian’s 40th birthday from 4pm onwards, Sunday, September 30th. Brian will be arriving around 430pm!
Please bring your own lawn chair and/or blanket to the picnic area. Unfortunately the good ol’ city of Toronto permit doesn’t allow for open alcohol, so sadly no adult beverages will be served.
If you would like to contribute a no-fuss snack or side dish, that would be great, but absolutely no pressure. Hamburgers and hot dogs, and all other barbecue fixin’s will be supplied!
Food will be out around 5pm and kids and on-leash dogs are welcome! There will be some frisbees and baseballs to toss around as well, if anyone wants to play.
For those who are able to stay later, there will be a bonfire around 7pm (weather permitting). We have to be cleaned up and offsite by 830pm. We’ll see how late we can push it ;)
No gifts please. Just bring the party! Map and parking instructions below.
Rain plan (tbd): AKA pray for sunshine!
GETTING THERE:
If you are taking the TTC: Get off at Old Mill on the Bloor Line and walk north towards our apartment (62 Old Mill Road). Head down Home Smith Park Road and walk north on the road on the west side of the Humber River for about 15 minutes until you come to Picnic Area 1 (on your left), just after the fire pit (on your right).
If you are driving: Enter the Home Smith Park from the north side via Dundas St. West. The picnic area is the first opening on your right hand side. You will see us set up there by the picnic tables! Home Smith Park Road is a one way street and the Dundas Street entrance is the only way into the park with a car. Park your vehicle along the side of the path around Picnic Area 1.
Call Ali’s cellphone 647-223-3461 if you get lost!
